Prep School, Transition School and College
Responsibility Grows with Age
In the Prep school, the daily routine is still clearly structured. In the Transition School, students are given more freedom and gradually take greater responsibility for managing their time and tasks. When they move to the Upper School campuses at Schloss Spetzgart and Campus Härlen, their daily routine changes considerably once again.
In the College, there is no longer a single daily schedule for everyone. Lessons, free periods, independent study and activities depend on each student’s individual timetable. This provides greater freedom – while also requiring students to take more responsibility for their time, their academic work and their contribution to boarding school life.
At Salem, the weekend does not begin until Saturday lunchtime, as regular lessons take place in the morning. Depending on the weekend, students may travel home or remain at Salem. During a Salemer Wochenende, the entire school community stays at the boarding school. The programme may include sport, excursions, events and shared activities.
Community
