Advent Concert and Parents' Christmas Dinner
The last day of school before the Christmas holiday: At Schule Schloss Salem, this is not just a time for parents and children to reunite. This Friday is always dedicated to the coming together of the Salem community, at the headmaster’s reception, the Advent concert and the parents' Christmas dinner. At the headmaster's reception in the historic stables of Schloss Salem, Henrik Fass was not the only one to express his sincere thanks to the school's sponsors. Middle School Head Girl Ella, and Middle School Head Boy Leo, also spoke to the guests about a topic that is very close to their hearts and that of the entire school community: democracy and how it is practiced and valued at Schule Schloss Salem. Pupils Ziyue and Oskar provided the musical backdrop to the reception with a flute duet.
The reception then moved on to the fully packed Zehntscheuer, where the Advent concert gave us goosebumps, this time for the first time under the direction of conductor Tim Evers. The dining hall was also fully packed for the parents' Christmas dinner, hosted by students Sina and Tim. The kitchen team under the guidance of Head Chef Uwe Anhorn had once again outdone themselves and prepared the guests for Christmas with chestnut soup, saddle of venison and speculatis cream. As part of a fundraising campaign for the modernization of the MINT area, the guests donated in excess of 25,000 Euros. This pleased not only the teaching staff, but above all the pupils, who presented the project and are looking forward to learning in the modernized science rooms.
