The school and boarding community of Schule Schloss Salem consists of around 250 staff members and approximately 600 students. Around half the staff are teachers who live and work with our students both in the boarding school, i.e. on the wings, and also in lessons, in the services, guilds and clubs. All others work in the areas of housekeeping, caretaking and administration. This includes our kitchen team, our maintenance staff and our cleaning staff, as well as the areas of accounting, human resources, IT, admissions, international office, marketing and fundraising.

House Tutor / Mentor (m/f/d) (residential position)

For 1 September 2025 we are seeking a House Tutor / Mentor (m/f/d) to live and work in a boarding house, caring for a wing of boys or girls.

We are looking for

People who enjoy working with children/young people from different cultures and are aware of their own role model function,
People who enjoy accompanying young students on their way to becoming a critically thinking personality and
People who enjoy living and working in the community of the boarding school.

You should offer

a relevant (social) pedagogical qualification,
Experience in working with young people and the flexibility and willingness to participate in a lively community,
familiarity with reform pedagogical theory and a willingness to put it into practice in everyday life with children and young people,
Joy in working with young people from different cultural backgrounds and
the willingness to accompany various student activities.

Job description

All our new teachers are encouraged to also take on a role in the boarding school. This means that you become an integrated member of our school community from day one, assisting in the boarding school with evening and weekend tasks as required, or possibly living on campus as a resident Mentor / House Tutor.
