What is TED?
TED (abbreviation for Technology, Entertainment, Design) was originally an annual innovation conference in California, best known for the TED Talks website, where the best presentations are made available as free videos.
What is TEDx?
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized TED-events that bring people together to create a TED-like atmosphere, where the "x" stands for "independently organized". A TEDx event combines recorded TED talk videos and live lectures on a pre-defined topic and presents it to the audience. The events also provide space and time to exchange views on the presented topic.
TEDx: School Castle Salem
An IB student had the idea to organize a TEDx talk on the Härlen campus. On the topic of "Becoming!" some speakers and recorded TED talks were combined and presented in front of numerous students and teachers on the evening of 24 January 2020. Among the speakers were students of the school, old students and two teachers of Schule Schloss Salem.
The organizer of the evening, our former IB student Suvd Tumenjargal, made an effort to publish the individual lectures on the official TEDx-Talk YouTube channel afterwards. The videos have now been published:
