"Around the world together" - Salem takes part in Round Square Day 2025

by Nina Peters, Round Square Representative
During the outdoor weekend, pupils from Salem collected kilometres for a good cause - as part of a worldwide movement.

Round Square Day is a global campaign in which schools from the international Round Square network join forces to make a difference - in the truest sense of the word. The aim of the "Global Challenge" is to symbolically travel once around the world by 5 June 2025: 40,074 kilometres - collected together, whether on foot, by bike or in other creative ways.

Schule Schloss Salem was fully committed: at this year's outdoor weekend, our pupils set off on land, water and even in the air to collect kilometres for the good cause. Every movement counted, every step brought us a little closer to our common goal.

But it was about more than just numbers. The participants showed what happens when movement meets community - and the desire to make a meaningful difference. With every distance they covered, they supported the Round Square Discovery Fund, which enables social projects and scholarships worldwide. This turned the outdoor weekend into an experience that brings people together: in sports, in solidarity and with an open view of the world.
