Reading Competition in Grade 6
by Lian, 5D1
Four talented students impressed with their reading contributions in the grade 6 reading competition.

On Friday, 08.12.2023, the 6th graders had a reading competition and the 5th graders were also invited. In the classes, 4 students had already qualified: Ida, Ziyue, Leo and Suki.

Leo, the winner, read very well — both familiar and foreign texts. He read an extract from the book “The Christmas Pig” by J.K. Rowling and had chosen an exciting passage. But the other readers were also solid, making it difficult for the judges to decide.

When the judges, consisting of last year's winner, Nefeli, our librarian, Mrs Salwik, and the Überlingen bookseller, Mr Braun, retired, Lian from Year 5 entertained us with a piece of music called “Green Dragonfly” on the harp.

At the end, the four participants could choose a new book as a prize. The other students from Years 5 and 6 were given biscuits. The most delicious ones were baked by Luisa herself.
