On Monday, November 14, 2022, the scholarship holders' meeting took place once again. We were very happy to see and meet many new faces. The meeting was led by Mrs. Meyer-Wiefhausen and Ms. Tritschler from the Marketing, Fundraising & Scholarship Coordination department, as well as Mrs. Mitchell and Mr. Baran (heads of boarding Schloss Salem).
Among other things, we discussed the criteria for extending the scholarship, as well as the scholarship fund. After all, it is important that the scholarship holders know where their scholarship comes from and who supports them. The scholarship fund is made up of four pillars: Foundations, Alumni, Parents and "Friends". The largest financial contribution to our scholarships comes from the Kurt Hahn Foundation, which was established specifically for this purpose. The Friends of Salem, the school's fundraising association, were also introduced. They support projects that cannot be financed from the school budget.
We also talked about how we as scholarship holders can support and help. We can do this, for example, when we write reports for the Salem Magazine or send pictures for the social media accounts.
Nevertheless, we get two tasks every year, and that is to write a statement and the scholarship report, in which we report about our year in Salem. It is impressive every year to see what kind of scholarship system Salem has and how many children get a great opportunity through it.
