Schule Schloss Salem opened its doors on Saturday, 15 March 2025. Numerous guests, including interested families, curious young people and local residents, took the opportunity to get to know our school and especially boarding school life. The Open Day not only offered exciting insights into lessons and our community, but also a variety of hands-on activities and creative impressions: an art exhibition by the art club, pieces of work from the carpentry workshop, musical contributions, campus tours with our students and a presentation by the fire brigade and THW delighted the audience. The enthusiasm of the Salemer could be felt everywhere - be it in conversations, performances or small encounters on the sidelines.
The successful conclusion of the day was the charity concert in the evening in the Härlen campus auditorium. This was organised by the Music Service and the Family for Benares Association for the benefit of the children's home Kutumb in India. Under the motto "We know you like music, and now we play for you!", the audience was enchanted with a varied programme: the pop ensemble created a rousing atmosphere, solo artists moved the audience with vocals and instrumental pieces, and the chamber music ensemble impressed with its creative instrumentation and captivating performance. The weeks of preparation by the pupils paid off - both musically and personally. The charity concert was not only a musical delight but also showed how much can be achieved when our Salem community works together.
We would like to thank everyone involved and are already looking forward to next year's Open Day and charity concert!
