Digital Careers Information Day - a horizon-expanding event!
by Ariane Hellenbach & Antonia Amereller (Abi1)
At the Careers Information Day, students can learn about different professions from speakers.

What will I do after school? Which degree program is right for me? Is my dream job really a good fit for me? These are all questions we ask ourselves in our final years of school. Some of us already have a clear idea of their future, others see the wide range of possibilities and do not yet know what suits them best.

The annual Careers Information Day, organized by our careers counselors, helps us meet interesting people from different professions and learn about their careers and work. In two one-hour online workshops on 21.05.2022, we had the opportunity to talk to an individually chosen selection of the 17 speakers and ask them questions. This gave us the chance to learn more about different career fields and to hear about the speakers' personal experiences. The speakers' valuable tips and motivation were also particularly impressive.

Dr. Porsché's advice to do what we are really interested in and what we enjoy was very helpful to many of us and encouraged us to explore professional fields that do not follow the mainstream. Others listened to Dr. Jagasia and were fascinated by his everyday life in drug research.

We all agree that the Careers Information Day was an absolute success and that we came one step closer to our future with a clearer view.
