For more than 20 years, Schule Schloss Salem has been a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), a global community of schools and universities whose aim is to educate interculturally competent global citizens. In October 2020, the Salem management team decided to seek international accreditation from CIS. After two phases of report preparation, a community survey and a preparatory visit in November 2022, the accreditation visit of nine peer evaluators took place at Schule Schloss Salem at the end of November 2024. During this week, our guests completed an intensive programme of meetings, visits, events and observations with the aim of reviewing the standards in nine areas of school operation and organization. At the closing meeting at the end of the visit, Ali Yusaf (team leader from Institut Le Rosey, Switzerland) highlighted, among other things, the quality of teaching, the professionalism of the Services, the warmth and care for our students in the boarding school and the great helpfulness and flexibility of our support staff. He also praised the eloquence, initiative and social skills of our students.
Thank you to all the staff involved who helped with the organization or participated in one of the many meetings and events that took place during the visit. Our guests experienced Schule Schloss Salem as an authentic, dynamic and caring place where a community of committed, enthusiastic and competent teachers and learners live and work together. We are now waiting for the team's reports to be reviewed and confirmed by CIS before we are expected to receive our accreditation status in early February 2025. We will keep you up to date!
