Bright Blue Sky and Fresh Snow
by Philemon Lambers, 10D2
In addition to countless other activities offered to us students here in Salem, we also get the opportunity to go skiing together.

On Sunday 29 January 2023, a group of 15 students, went skiing together in Lech and Warth-Schröcken. It was hard to get up so early on the only day of the week when it is possible to sleep in, so that everyone could leave on time with two Salem buses at 6:15am, but what wouldn't you do to go skiing? Besides, it was still possible to sleep on the way!

To ensure that everyone had plenty of food, we were provided with breakfast packages by the kitchen. When we arrived at our destination after the 2-hour drive and had rented the necessary equipment, we could already take the gondola over to Lech. The weather couldn't have been better: bright blue skies and still quite fresh snow from the previous few days.

Of course, you have to take advantage of such good weather, which is why we didn't take too long with our lunch break. We met up again punctually at 3pm to take the gondola back to Warth-Schröcken as a group, and there we continued skiing until the lifts closed. Once everyone had handed in their equipment and changed, we headed back to Salem. The return journey took a little longer than the outward journey because of the traffic. However, most of us didn't really notice that because we were so tired.

All in all it was a successful day that we will all remember and look forward to repeating. Many thanks to Mrs Spielvogel and Mrs Rebholz for making this day possible!
