2nd online music competition
This year our music competition, which is supported by the Felicitas-und-Werner-Egerland-Foundation, took place digitally again.

Actually, the music competition in Salem is a big event with weeks of preparation, auditions in front of the jury and a prize winners' concert as a crowning finale, where everyone shows their skills and receives due applause. However, due to the ongoing Corona regulations, not only were the choir and orchestra rarely allowed to rehearse this school year, but the biennial music competition had to be cancelled as well. Therefore, the music ministry decided to announce the second Salem Online Music Competition in which all grades could participate.

We, a small group of students from the music service, organized this under the guidance of our instrumental teacher Susanne Sigg and with the support of the school's marketing department. We met weekly in online conferences and created a guide to explain the process as well as a form with the help of which we requested the data of the participants. We also sent out an upload link for the videos that each participant was to create.

At the beginning of March 2022, the jury met. Music teacher Thomas Braun, former music teacher Albert Franz and piano teacher Claudia Nyc evaluated all videos and named the winners, whom we would like to congratulate once again. We would also like to thank all the other participants for their commitment and congratulate them on their successful videos! We would like to express our special thanks to the Felicitasund Werner Egerland Foundation for their financial support, which enables us to visit a rehearsal of the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra in Constance with all the prize winners. We will be able to come into close contact with the musicians and see their work.
