Salem supports sustainability
One of the main principles of Salem's education is assuming responsibility for others. In addition to their everyday schooling, the Salem students assume responsibility for people in need during their work in the Services. The reality on which it is based is, in fact, structured relatively simply. In most cases situations are involved where a person who is well educated, has the means and is on the spot to help others.
The "actual reality" in the world we live in, however, is more complex and more complicated. The changes on our planet take place slowly, and at the same time, this process is extremely difficult to understand and influence. We notice (hardly) anything, we can do (hardly) anything, and we still understand (hardly) anything. Is it going to become warmer or colder, are meat supplies to Ghana a curse or a blessing, is the fact that China is becoming industrialised, desirable or fatal, and what about atomic power?
