This program is specially intended for young people aged 14 to 25 and encourages social commitment, self-realization, adventure experiences, and the development of personal interests in accordance with Kurt Hahn's educational principles. Bronze and Silver Badges correspond to prescribed activities in the areas of service, expeditions, talent and fitness. For the Gold Badge the range of activities is broadened to include a further personal project.

With its voluntary membership base of 80,000 trained volunteers, THW is a unique organization established in 1950 within Germany's Federal Ministry of the Interior.
Senate of Economy
The Senate of Economy consists of leaders in industry, science and society who are particularly aware of their responsibility towards the state and society. Together as ambassadors of the organization they seek to implement its goals in dialogue with policy makers in the fields of politics, industry, culture and media.
THW Youth Association
The THW Youth Association is an independent non-governmental youth organization for girls and boys aged ten or more associated with the Federal Agency for Technical Relief. Nationwide more than 15,000 young people are active in local branches.
Round Square is a worldwide network of 180 schools in 50 countries on five continents which share the pedagogical legacy of Kurt Hahn. Schule Schloss Salem is one of the founding members.
